The article describes the basic personal qualities of the teacher in professional activity presented in the scientific literature. The most significant teacher professional qualities in higher education are defined based on the analysis of scientific literature. Guidelines for the development of qualities that characterize the identity of future teachers and are important for further professional growth are defined.
