Abstract

Major Scout handbooks and manuals by the founder of the world Scouting Robert Baden-Powell, by the initiator of the German Scouting Alexander Lion, and modern Scouting handbooks and manuals have been surveyed from historical and pedagogical standpoint. Based on the historical and pedagogical analysis of the Scout handbooks contents conclusions have been made and priority directions for the further research on the topic have been outlined.
