PECULIARITIES OF THE RAILWAY BRANCH ESTABLISHMENT IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE XIXth CENTURY IN WESTERN UKRAINE AT THE PERIOD OF THE AUSTROHUNGARIAN EMPIRE GOVERNING

Abstract

In the article the peculiarities of the establishment of the railway branch in the first half of the 19th century in Western Ukraine at the period of the Austro-Hungarian Empire Governing are analyzed. The objective political and economic reasons for the postponement of the railway construction in Galicia are established: 1) unstable political situation; 2) financial crisis of the Government; 3) lack of railway transport specialists in the absence of technical schools in Galicia. The role and place of Cesar’s-Royal Technical Academy in Lviv in formation of the future educational base of specialists’ vocational training for the railway branch in Galicia is considered. It was underlined that it is important to research the railway transport development in interrelation with the specialists’ professional training of this branch.
