ORGANIZATION OF TRAINING OF TUTORS IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Abstract

The article examines the experience professional training of tutors in this country on the basis of the analysis national information educational resources and the activities of national tutoring associations in the United States. It has been found that associations have different certification programs and require- ments for those, who wish to receive training intuition activities and a certificate of a tutor to work in the field of additional educational services. In particular, the National Tutoring Association offers a wide range of training, assessment and certification services, using, in addition to traditional approaches (seminars, trainings), online training through NTA Live and webinars. It also distributes the newsletters and educa- tional books of its own publishing house for preparation certification at different levels. College Reading & Learning Association offers another means for training tutors – holding seasonal schools (institutes) for tutors. The Association for Tutoring Professionals (ATP) provides a communication platform that con- nects tutors, facilitators and administrators, who seek to develop the student’s independence. The ATP offers such opportunities as association membership, high-quality professional development, community of professionals, the exchange of tools and methods, the training of teachers and teachers, an annual con- ference for researchers and practitioners, publication of research and newsletters, online training through web-seminars. It has been found that the practice of training tutors through certification programs is quite common in the United States, as evidenced by the presence of several associations that provide certifica- tion and tuition training. In the article the author concludes that the professional training of tutors in this country is carried out either through formal education in the field of education with the optional passage of
certification courses, either through the compulsory completion of a certification program for the training
of tutors, or by joining one of the national associations with the training of tutors.
