Abstract

The article raises issues of development of science from ancient times to the present. The role of science as a socially significant sphere of human activity is determined. The essence of scientific theory is grounded and the classification of sciences is carried out, which enables the independence of each branch of knowledge, reveals the regular connections between objects, determines their place and basic properties in the integral system, is a means of preservation and information seeking.
