MEDIA COMPETENCE OF A MODERN TEACHER AS A CONDITION FOR EFFECTIVE ENGLISH INTERACTION

As the title implies the article describes ways of using mediaproducts for creating an English-speaking environment during the educational process, reveals the basic principles of health literacy, and examines and organizes the main elements of health competence of a teacher in the educational process. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the peculiarities of the formation of medical competence of a modern teacher and the realization of professional potential in the English-speaking environment. The research uses methods of pedagogical analysis, generalization of information, materials of questionnaires of future teachers. The article analyzes the work of Ukrainian and foreign scholars on the ways of media implementation in the educational process and the interaction of knowledge, skills, values and abilities to facilitate the learning of English as a mediacompetent teacher. The paper outlines the effective implementation of the principles of medialiteracy, which is realized through the development of critical thinking and self-actualization in the media–teacher–student/pupil system for the formation of key competencies defined by the State Standards. The article describes the teacher’s mediacompetency as a basis for self-education and a form for the creation, searchin and successful use of mediaproducts in the lessons of foreign (English) language, for ensuring the development of skills of monologic and dialogic speech. The research methods used: the method of selection and systematization of material, allowed us to select information that helped us to solve the problem of “media” in general and to reach the specified conclusions. The conclusion of the report provides relevance of the implementation of information and multimedia technologies in the teaching and learning process, and creation of own mediaproducts and determined the prospect of further research into the media literacy of future teachers in the English-speaking environment and research into the process of propaedeutic activities for learning English.
