SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH ON THE PROBLEM OF DEVELOPING COMPETENCIES IN PRESCHOOL CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS

Abstract

The article presents scientific research on the issue of developing competencies in preschool children withspecial educational needs. Compliance with the Early Childhood Education Standard is ensured by consideringthe child’s innate abilities, inclinations, skills, and individual psychological and physical capacities in the mostoptimal form for each child. Therefore, the relevance of the research lies in the analysis of pedagogical,psychological, corrective, and methodological literature on the problem of developing competencies in preschoolchildren with special educational needs. The aim of the article is to provide a theoretical analysis of research onthe development of competencies in preschool children with special educational needs. Analysis of scientificpublications on this issue reveals a significant body of research on various competencies; however, someof them have an integrated nature, indicating their interpenetration in organizing educational and developmentalwork. These include motor and health-preserving competencies, personal, social-civic, natural-scientificand ecological skills, sustainable development-oriented skills, practical and technological competencies,sensory-cognitive, logical-mathematical, and research competencies, as well as play, speech, artistic-speech, and creative-artistic skills. The research into theoretical sources on the development of competencies in preschoolchildren with special educational needs indicates that the phenomenon of developing research competency asa distinct component in working with children with special educational needs is underexplored. However,the analysis revealed the potential for an integrated approach to developing life competencies in children withspecial educational needs. Future research will focus on substantiating the directions for developing researchcompetency in preschool children with special educational needs and identifying effective methods.
