Purpose. The study aims to substantiate the theoretical and methodological foundations of preparing future mathematics teachers for implementing motivational support at various stages of the mathematics lesson. It focuses on determining the role of the motivational component in shaping students’ positive attitudes toward mathematics, stimulating their cognitive activity, and improving learning outcomes. Methods. To achieve the research purpose, theoretical methods such as analysis, synthesis, and generalization of psychological, pedagogical, and methodological sources on motivation in mathematics education were applied. A comparative analysis of modern approaches to the professional training of mathematics teachers was conducted. The systemic and competence-based approaches were used to define pedagogical conditions and to structure the content of methodological training. Results. The study identifies the motivational component as a key factor in forming students’ positive attitudes toward mathematics, developing their learning motivation, and enhancing the effectiveness of the educational process. The main strategies, means, and methods of motivational influence in mathematics lessons were outlined. The forms, methods, and content of professional training for future mathematics teachers were analyzed in the context of developing their ability to provide motivational support during different lesson stages. Pedagogical conditions that ensure the effective formation of the corresponding skills in students of pedagogical universities were formulated. Conclusions. Preparing future mathematics teachers for implementing motivational support at various stages of the lesson is an essential component of their professional competence. It requires improving the content of methodological training based on the competence approach and integrating psychological- pedagogical knowledge with practical skills aimed at developing students’ readiness for the systematic, conscious, and creative use of motivational strategies in the educational process.
