EDUCATIONAL TOURISM IN EDUCATIONAL AND OUT-OF-SCHOOL INSTITUTIONS AT THE END OF THE 20TH – BEGINNING OF THE 21ST CENTURY

The purpose of the article is to analyze the development of educational tourism in educational and out-ofschool institutions at the end of the 20th – beginning of the 21st century and to determine its pedagogical significance. The relevance of the study is due to the need to understand educational tourism as a form of practice-oriented learning that combines cognitive, educational, local history, socio-cultural and health components. Methods. The study used an analysis of scientific literature, a historical and pedagogical method, systematization, generalization and content analysis of regulatory documents. This made it possible to clarify the essence of educational tourism, determine its forms, functions, organizational principles and development trends in institutions of general secondary and outof- school education. Results. It was established that during the studied period, educational tourism developed as an important form of cognitive, educational and practice-oriented activity of schoolchildren. Its main forms were educational excursions, tourist hikes, local history expeditions, field trips, museum practices, educational routes, group and project work. At school, it was implemented mainly through subject excursions in history, geography, biology, literature and art, and outside of school it acquired a more systematic character thanks to the activities of tourism and local history centers, groups, clubs of young tourists and tour guides. It was found that participation in tourist and local history events contributed to the development of cognitive activity, research skills, communication skills, the ability to work in a team, and a responsible attitude towards nature, history and culture of one's native land. Conclusions. It is proven that educational tourism at the end of the 20th – beginning of the 21st century was an important means of updating school and extracurricular education. Its pedagogical significance lies in combining learning with practical experience, forming key competencies and socializing students
