PECULIARITIES OF TEACHING SPELLING OF THE FRENCH LANGUAGE IN THE FIRST YEAR OF THE LANGUAGE SPECIALITY

Abstract

The article considers the place of aspect “spelling” in the process of teaching writing and written speech according to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching and Assessment and examples of the current situation in teaching spelling in the country (France) are given. The author of the article presents the viewpoint of native speakers, teachers and highlights the language policy of the French government, of government and non-government organizations. Attention is also paid to teaching first year students spelling of the French language on the initial stage.
