ROLE OF THE LEADING HIGHER TECHNICAL EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS IN THE FORMATION OF TRANSPORT SCIENCE IN UKRAINE (ХІХ – BEGINNING OF THE ХХ CENTURY)

Abstract

In the article the scientific activity conditions of the leading higher technical educational institutions in the XIX – beginning of the XX century in Ukraine are analysed. The factors that led to their leading position in the formation and development of the transport science are researched. The role of the higher technical educational establishments as scientific research centres is determined. It is determined that higher technical schools favour the development of science in many directions, where as the branch educational establishments were closely connected with the railway industry, with its requirements and needs and favour directly to the development of branch science. It revealed in the development of normative documents, projects, construction of tracks, bridges, rolling stock by lecturers together with the students
