INTERNATIONAL INTERNETRESOURCE «SPREADTHESIGN»: LINGUISTIC FEATURES

Abstract

In the article opens the website „Spreadthesign” creation, which is the first internet-base for study and promote the national sign languages around the world. This became possible after Ukraine ratification of the United Nations convention of the rights of the persons with disability. It notes that thanks to the efforts of the Sign Language Laboratory at Institute of Special Education of NAES of Ukraine the Ukrainian Sign Language have got the official status and the right to study in special schools for deaf and hard-of-hearing children. That Laboratory carries out of the scientific research of Ukrainian Sign Language. For the short time it has been gathered and researched an arsenal of Ukrainian Sign Language units, which created the base for participation in creation of the Ukrainian content of the website „Spreadthesign”. This article describes the Internet resource structure,the conceptual approach for the material presentation based on the linguistic features of the natural sign language units, and their versions grounded on thematic
principle. That principle is the best for sign language learning as opposed to alphabetical principle, which is obsolete, because this principle reflects the characteristics and rules of spoken language. In the most countries this principle is the main at the Sign Language Dictionary creation without reference to the different categories of people or purposes various. It describes in detail the features of groupware of the Ukrainian team. Also, it opens the role of support pointers the „class” and the „determination” of the language unit in the process of translation of words for correct video-recording of sign language counterparts. It characterizes the mechanism of translation from  English to Ukrainian Sign Language. Also, it presents the practical comparison of the language units of the different countries based on the example of concepts „or” and „speak”. It grounds the purpose of this international internet resource for conservation of national sign languages, and for creation the base for the communication among deaf citizens from different countries.
