The article examines the problem of implementing the strategies of the XXI century in the educational process of pedagogical universities. We have made an attempt to prove the essence and social conditionality of educational strategies in the educational process of pedagogical universities, that serve as the methodological basis for the formation of the social reflection of a future teacher. It has been determined that European strategic guidelines consider the formation of a future teacher as a subject of the own professional development. And in the long term, it should appear to be the professional self-development throughout the life of a future teacher based on an individual and personally oriented trajectory that is founded on the potential capabilities and personal characteristics of each one.
