Abstract

The article presents the European experience of preparing applicants for the third educational-scientific level of higher education (PhD) that based on a competent approach. There are analyzed the current trends in the development of generic competencies of the applicants of the third (educational-scientific) level of higher education in the context of ensuring the quality of doctoral education. The emphasis is placed on the role of mentoring and supervisory practices during the study on the doctoral program, regardless of specialization. Described the list of general competencies, which are formed at the applicants of the third educational-scien- tific level of higher education
