FEATURES OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION IN „PUBLIC SCHOOLS” – THE ELITE BOARDING SCHOOLS OF GREAT BRITAIN

The article reveals the peculiarities of physical education in «public schools» – the elite boarding schools of Great Britain: Winchester College, Westminster School, Eton College, Rugby School, Harrow School, Charterhouse School, Shrewsbury School. The author found that traditionally in British elite private schools, boarding houses «public schools» of Great Britain are the following directions of education: religious, civil, physical, aesthetic, etc. Physical education is designed to meet the goals of forming the personal maturity of students, the development of collective relations. Sports in «public schools» are not only mandatory measures, a means of physical and moral education, traditions that are proud of in schools, but also a way to integrate
school into the national education system.
