THE MEANING-OF-LIFE UNIVERSE OF MARIIA PENTYLIUK AND NILA VOLOSHYNA: MEANING-MAKING IN SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY

Purpose. The article conceptually reconstructs the meaning-of-life universe of M. Pentyliuk and N. Voloshynaas two complementary models of Ukrainian language and literary education: a communicative-activity modeland a cultural-interpretive model. Methods. The study applies conceptual-terminological, personological,comparative, structural-logical and projection-based analysis. The corpus includes M. Pentyliuk’s works onlanguage personality, professional communication culture and the integrative training of future language-andliteratureteachers, as well as contemporary studies of N. Voloshyna’s legacy concerning her scientific school,expressive reading, dialogue of arts, national-cultural identity and patriotic education. Results. The articlesubstantiates that the scientific activity of both professors represents a form of cultural and educational serviceto the Ukrainian word, the child, teachers and the future of Ukraine. M. Pentyliuk’s universe is structuredaround language personality, communicative activity, professional speech and the integration of philologicaldisciplines. N. Voloshyna’s universe is structured around the student-reader, the artistic word, aesthetic education,dialogue of arts, national-cultural identity and the textbook as a cultural-methodological text. A comparativemodel is proposed that correlates the researchers’ legacy with the projections of the Education. Children. Future project: target, programme, decomposition, methodological, interactional, content, monitoring, valueand development projections. Conclusions. Pentyliuk and Voloshyna do not duplicate each other; they createan integral matrix of modern language and literary education. The former provides action through the word,while the latter provides interpretation and experience of the word. Their synthesis forms a methodologicalbasis for the model of the future Self-personality capable of thinking, speaking, reading, creating, evaluatingand acting responsibly.
