SWIMMING AS A MEANS OF DEVELOPMENT OF PSYCHOPHYSICAL PREPAREDNESS OF THE FUTURE OFFICER OF THE NATIONAL POLICE OF UKRAINE
Abstract
This paper covers issues related to the improvement of the psychophysical preparedness of future officers of the National Police of Ukraine, who are trained in higher education institutions with specific learning conditions through swimming. The concept of swimming is given, the classification of swimming on sporting swimming, recreational swimming, swimming as a way of movement, swimming which is related with service activity is carried out. The health effects of swimming on the human body as a whole and on its separate systems, such as: the central nervous system, the respiratory system, the cardiovascular system, the immune system, are revealed. The analysis of physical qualities, which are most perfected by swimming, is carried out. The concept of physical endurance is revealed, types of physical endurance are considered, namely general endurance, fast endurance and coordination endurance, indicators of manifestation of physical endurance are given. The 4-week program of swimming exercises, which is aimed at the development of the above types of physical endurance, is proposed. The program consists of twenty lessons, five lessons per week, and is based on generally accepted methods of physical development: rhythmical, variable, interval, repeat and competitive.
During these classes, the swimmer performs swimming in different ways, freestyle, with the help of movements only with his hands, with the help of movements only with his feet, continuous swimming freestyle. The percent increment of the indicators of swimming at separate distances is given.
As an additional factor for improving the psychophysical preparedness of a policeman, the method of
diving is given.
