CONTRIBUTION OF THE UKRAINIAN RESEARCHERS TO THE FORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE THEORY OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION OF RISING GENERATION

Abstract

In the article groundworks of the Ukrainian scientists of the period 1650–1920 are examined. The analysis of the most meaningful publicist materials, academic papers, school textbooks and methodical manuals of home teachers and doctors, sport and public figures, works of scientists is carried out, groundworks of scientists on questions of P.E of children and teenagers are generalized. Little-known works published on the territory of Western Ukraine and Tsarist Russia is reviewed. Special attention is paid to new forms and methods of «body bringing up», ways of improving health, endurance and movable games. The historical succession of basic pedagogical views on physical education of a child and the role of school in this process is demonstrated. In recent years the significant number of scientific researches is devoted to the questions of physical development and children body brining up, however, out of boundaries of scientific study the illumination of pedagogical ideas of little-known educators of Western Ukraine and Naddniprianschyna is remained. The considerable contribution into the theory of physical education of rising generation was made by philosophers and educators of the first half of XVIII century, teachers and doctors, public and state figures of ХІХ century. They paid attention to the role of natural factors in physical development of the child, exposed the value of tempering of the organism since babyhood, pointed out the necessity of taking into consideration age features of children in physical education
