INNOVATIVE APPROACHES TO THE GEOGRAPHY TEXTBOOK USE IN THE INDEPENDENT WORK SKILLS FORMATION OF SECONDARY SCHOOL PUPILS

Abstract

The article describes and substantiates the features of nontraditional approach to the physical geography textbook use in the independent work skills formation of secondary school students. The methodological possibilities of the critical thinking technology elements application have been analyzed. This technology has such main stages of its implementation: the evocation, realization and reflection. The technology of critical thinking combines various strategies, which provide independent, conscious activity of students in the learning process. The methods that facilitate the independent work skills formation with textbook components have been exam- ined and illustrated by the examples.
