JOHN DEWEY’S INNOVATIVE PEDAGOGIC ACTIVITIES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO (1894-1904)

Abstract

The article analyzes the innovative pedagogic activities of John Dewey at the University of Chicago (1894- 1904). The core of the “reconstruction in philosophy”, undertaken by the scholar, has been exposed. The main activity directions of the united chair of pedagogy, philosophy and psychology, headed by J. Dewey, have been singled out. The unity of theory and practice in the organizational-methodical system of J. Dewey’s Chicago Laboratory School has been emphasized.
