ANALYSIS OF THE CONTENT OF THE WORK PROGRAMS IN THE DISCIPLINE “ALGORITHMS AND DATA STRUCTURE” IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS
Abstract
Computer science is the basis of theoretical knowledge, practical skills and skills used in their professional work by computer engineers and engineers-educators on the profile “Computer Technologies”. One of the fundamental courses is to teach computer courses from the normative cycle of training is the course “Algorithms and Data Structures”, with in which students must be formed to understand the algorithms and their properties, methods for constructing algorithms and their presentation methods, the ability to analyze algorithms and proof of their correctness, construction of data structures and algorithms for their processing. The article analyzes and compares the work programs in the academic discipline “Algorithms and Data Structure” in the process of training engineers-programmers and engineers-teachers in the specialty 122 “Computer Science” and 015.10 “Professional Education (Computer Technologies)” in higher education institutions. Defined common themes and number of hours in the course of teaching discipline algorithms and data structure. From the analysis of work programs, the following topics can be distinguished: the notion of data structure, sorting algorithms, graphs, and trees, which are considered in all universities, but the se topics are taught in various content modules and their study is given a different number of hours. It is not appropriate to teach programming languages in the discipline “Algorithms and Data Structure”. The most impressive will be the
study of block diagrams and pseudo-code.
